COMMUNTY INVOLVEMENT PROJECT
Though not a requirement for membership, FGBW members are given the opportunity to give back to the community through the FGBW Community Involvement Project. The Community Involvement Project has two components:

1) Community Volunteer Projects
2) Speakers Bureau

Volunteer Projects
Members are given the opportunity to engage in volunteer activities such as feeding/preparing meals at homeless shelters, reading to kids in underserved communities, helping with fundraising events for prostate cancer, breast cancer awareness and other causes.

Volunteer activities are coordinated two to four  times per year. Volunteer activities are great ways for FGBW members to give back to the community.

Speakers Bureau
FGBW is proud to have a member base with professionals in varying fields. Interested members of FGBW will be given an opportunity to share the secrets of their professional success with youth by serving as guest speakers on career days at schools and /or youth groups in Los Angeles county (mostly underserved communities).
Another aspect of the speaker's bureau will be to spread the word about the importance of physical fitness, making healthy choices and decisions.

Presentations usually last about 15 - 30 minutes. Frequency of presentations are dependent on demand, need and member interest.
